The Delaware Charity Challenge is a unique fundraising and athletic competition designed to give organizations, families, and individuals a fun way to raise money and awareness for their favorite causes. Teams that enter may designate any charity they want as a beneficiary of funds they raise as a team. Part of the proceeds from the race registrations and the race sponsorships will go into a prize pool that will be distributed among the charities that raise the most money and to the charities of the teams that win the individual race events on the day of the Delaware Charity Challenge.  


5K Registration Costs

Registration is affordable for all teams and nonprofits.

Team registration for the Delaware Charity Challenge is pretty straightforward. The registration process is being handled online through Eventbrite and CrowdRise, although paper registrations/checks can also be mailed. The below information shows the registration fees for the 2015 Delaware Charity Challenge 5K and Adventure Challenge Relay and will be updated later in 2016 when registration for the 5K is activated and open.

Registration costs cover your race entry, basic t-shirts, and parking at Lums Pond. If you would like to participate as a virtual team (meaning you will not actually be in Delaware and/or participate in the Delaware Charity Challenge that day), a team can be created for $25, which would allow you to still use the race as a fundraiser for your charity. Virtual teams, however, will not be eligible for any prize pool winnings, although charities selected by virtual teams could still win the overall fundraising challenge.

If you are planning to put together multiple teams (more than 3) or if you anticipate that your teams (combined) will have more than 10 runners, you may want to consider becoming a sponsor of the Delaware Charity Challenge. There is a sponsorship level for companies of all sizes. Most of the sponsorships include race entries and it is easy to have additional team members join your team.

If you are interested in helping as a volunteer for the Delaware Charity Challenge, please contact us. There is a minimal cost for volunteers ($15), which covers your parking fee and t-shirt.

Runners and participants can also upgrade to a tech t-shirt for an additional $15.

For the Adventure Challenge Relay Race, the race fee covers your team members' race entries in each leg of the relay. The team member racing the bike portion of the event will have to provide his or her own mountain bike. Additionally, team members participating in the canoe or zipline portions of the Adventure Challenge Relay will need to sign separate liability waivers the morning of the event.
