"The Delaware Charity Challenge is the area's fastest growing team-based charity fundraising event," says Charlie Vincent, founder of Innovincent LLC, the company behind the Delaware Charity Challenge. "In three events since May 2015, individuals and teams have collectively raised more than $75,000 for area nonprofits. We look forward to the continued growth of this premier fundraising and athletic competition."
The Winter Indoor Triathlon will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware. The race consists of a 15 minute treadmill run, a 15 minute spin bike ride, and a 15 minute erg (row) on a rowing machine. Triathletes can compete in one of two divisions: (1) Medley or (2) Run, Row, Bike. Teams can compete in either division of the indoor triathlon. There is no cap on team size, as teams can have multiple squads compete in one or more of the different divisions or subdivisions of the competition. Individuals can also sign up and compete in the Run, Row, Bike Triathlon competition.
For teams, a Medley Triathlon squad requires three members, with each individually competing in one of the three events. The Medley Triathlon division is subdivided into competitive categories (men's, women's and co-ed races) and scored based on the combined efforts of the three member squads. A Run, Row, Bike Triathlon squad requires three members to score, with each competing in all three of the events. The Run, Row, Bike Triathlon division is subdivided into competitive categories and scored based on the combined efforts of the three member squads. Individuals can also compete in the Run, Row, Bike Triathlon division. The winning team in each race category will win prize money from the prize pool for their designated charity.
