Brandywine Creek State Park Cross Country Course Map
Charles Vincent
A couple of notes for Saturday:
The entrance for Brandywine Creek State Park is located at 41 Adams Dam Rd. in Wilmington, Delaware. GPS is easiest, but generally speaking, from the north, take 202 to 92 W (Thompson Bridge Road) about 4-5 miles until you get to Adams Dam Rd. Turn left on Adams Dam Rd and the park entrance will be on the left. From the south (coming up off 95 to 202N, take the 141 exit and turn left on Park Drive, then right on Rockland Road and follow that about 5 miles until it forks left and turns into Adams Dam Rd.
For Saturday's race, we will have signs leading into the park on Adams Dam Rd. and you will see the Delaware Charity Challenge feather banner at the park entrance. We will also have signs in the park directing you to the correct parking lot and registration area.
The map of the park showing where the parking lot and registration pavilion is here. We will have signs pointing you to go to the left after the toll booth and a right up the hill at the next fork in the road. If you go left and get to the park office, you can just turn around and follow the road back down until you can make a left. We will have signs and there are also signs that will direct you to the Hawk Watch area. The path marked in gold/yellow is the cross country course.
The cross country course starts in the middle of the field next to the pavilion by the parking lot. Many parts of this year's Adventure Challenge Relay will take place along the same path. Below is another map showing the course trail.
We look forward to seeing you on the morning of Saturday, April 30! Be sure to check out the sponsors of this year's event here and some of the specials they are running for our participants this year.
